Originating from the distillation of wine and lees and with a minimum alcohol content of 40°, the 2001 Fine de Bourgogne from Domaine de la Vougeraie is one of the estate's treasures, produced in very limited quantities. Exquisitely refined, it reveals delicate aromas of candied and exotic fruits and is enjoyed like a fine whisky, either as an aperitif or at the end of a meal, perfectly delightful on its own.
Elaboration:
After a year and a half of ageing in wood, the best lees from the casks of the 2001 vintage were distilled. Aged in barrel for 11 years. Bottled by hand.Limited edition of 1,459 bottles.
Recently awarded 3 stars by RVF for its "exceptional level," a mark of prestige in grand Burgundy, Domaine de la Vougeraie is one of the most accomplished estates currently. Its commitment to organic farming, biodynamic practices over the last twenty years, a splendid heritage of vines—67 plots across 34 hectares—and the remarkable talent of Sylvie Poillot produce captivating wines, among the most elegant and inspiring in their appellations.
The rigorous cultivation coupled with inspired craftsmanship, including a significant use of whole cluster fermentation, creates a delicate and sensual style, with a grace of texture and flavor that is simply superb.
