AWARDS

Robert Parker : 97+/100

Wine:

A plot selection on one of the oldest plots in the village of La Aguilera, at an altitude of 890 meters, the 2018 red Ribera del Duero Canta la Perdiz benefits from totally unique sand and limestone soils. This specificity is the foundation of its strength and originality, coupled with meticulous expertise; fermentations with indigenous yeasts in concrete vats, followed by 37 months' barrel aging forge an extraordinary wine, powerful and sculptural in this vintage, with notes of spice, smoke, ripe fruit, and incredible freshness. Abundant tannins and a firm texture give it superb aging potential. A world-class wine, among the Ribera's finest! Rated 97+/100 by Parker.

Vinification:

Hand-harvested, old vines on a 1.25-hectare plot at 890 meters altitude, 100% whole grape fermentation with indigenous yeasts in concrete vats, traditional foot treading, aged 31 months in mainly French oak barrels in the estate's underground cellars. Unfiltered, unfined.
As these are very old Tempranillo vines, other local red or white varieties can also be found: 10% Cariñena and 10% Blanca del Pais, Garnacha, Bobal, Tempranillo Gris...

Color:

Intense, dark red, almost black, brilliant.

Nose:

Expressive and delicate, with perfectly ripe red and black fruit aromas marked by a spicy undertone.

Palate:

Riche et puissante, cette cuvée dévoile un jus énergique aux nuances fraiches et élégantes. Un vin d'une finesse inouïe et une persistance en bouche incroyable.

Temperature:

Serve between 14 and 16°C in a Royal Glass Gran Ultima tall glass.

Food and wine pairing:

Rosé duck fillet, spit-roasted beef, game terrine with pepper.

Cellar aging:

From now until 2034
