Clos Marie - Pic Saint-Loup - Simon - Rouge - 2020

Wine:

The estate's flagship, the 2020 red Pic Saint-Loup Simon is made from a blend of Grenache and Syrah with a touch of Mourvèdre, on a mid-slope clay-limestone terroir. It's a beautifully dense wine, with an intense, racy tannic structure and definite aging potential. A flagship wine in Pic Saint-Loup, beautifully evocative of bramble, wild pepper and sweet spices.

Vinification:

Hand harvested. Vines planted on former olive groves. Aged 22 to 24 months in 600-liter demi-muids and foudres.

Certified organic wine.

Temperature:

Serve between 14 and 16°C.

Food and wine pairing:

Aromatic pigeon, lamb shoulder confit with rosemary, duck with figs and chestnuts, grilled entrecôte with spices and peppers.
