The 2023 Red Sancerre Terre de Maimbray is immediately seductive with a gorgeous nose where perfectly ripe Pinot Noir bursts with brightness and freshness. The fruit, enhanced by subtle aging, shows notes of morello cherry and cherries in syrup, carried by the freshness of the terroir and fine-grained tannins. A true favorite of the Selection Committee, rated 94/100.Vinification:
Hand harvested grapes. Grapes sorted by hand. Whole grapes account for 25% of the harvest. Cold pre-fermentation maceration, followed by 4 weeks of vatting. Aged in wooden vats for 10 months, with spontaneous malolactic fermentation in the spring. Unfiltered wine.Color:
