Wine:The 2021 Red Crozes-Hermitage Grand Classique has a crisp ripeness, with a delicate smoky finish and a very restrained oakiness. The palate remains taut, fine and pleasantly fruity, with a lovely fresh finish. Very accessible today, supported by a slight roasted note, this Syrah will go well with white meat or veal chop, for example. Rated 92/100 by the Comité.
Vinification:Hand harvested. Total destemming, traditional fermentation in stainless steel and temperature-controlled concrete vats. Vatting for 15 to 20 days. Aged 70% in vats for 9 to 12 months and 30% in 400-liter oak barrels.
Color:Intense, brilliant ruby red.
Nose:Typical Syrah aromas, with subtle notes of ripe red fruit, a touch of smoke and a hint of licorice.
Palate:Rich and full-bodied, it reveals a gourmet structure with a herbaceous, fruity profile, subtle, perfectly integrated woody nuances and an elegant, lively structure.
Temperature:Serve between 14 and 16°C.
Food and wine pairing:Artisanal charcuterie, grilled lamb chop, oven-baked guinea fowl.
Cellar aging:From now until 2028 and beyond for enthusiasts.
