Wine:
The 2020 red IGP Vin des Allobroges Améthyste is a striking duet of Mondeuse and the rare Persian that dominates. It comes from the famous Cevins hillside (so steep that it makes mechanized vineyard work impossible). In our glasses, we perceive the concentration of the vintage and its aridity - it's a harvest of 25 hl/ha! Notes of wild black berries and spices, reminiscent of the scents of the maquis, a ripe, almost southern ensemble. The palate texture is superb, full-bodied, with good complexity and delicate, well-balanced oak. The tannins are present, but with a few years in a decanter or cellar, this bottle will have everything to please. Rated 93/100 by our committee.Vinification:

Originally from Champagne, Brice Omont cultivates 16 hectares of biodynamic vines on two hillsides at the entrance to the Tarentaise region at Domaine des Ardoisières. The unspoilt, steep-sided landscapes are absolutely worth seeing, and the work carried out here is Dantesque and commands respect. In the space of two decades, Brice Omont has succeeded in elevating his estate to the summit of Savoie, making it an enviable singularity, and his success extends far beyond the Alps...
The wines are full-bodied and ripe, propelled by skilfully measured ageing, with little wood showing through and blending perfectly with the aging process. These wines are prized by connoisseurs, and their price is skyrocketing: you have to taste them at least once.
