Grown at nearly 900 metres of altitude, the 2019 Ribera del Duero Peñas Aladas Gran Reserva Red is nothing short of a Spanish monument. This is a wine of remarkable finesse, complexity, and balance—born from a meticulous selection of small, scattered plots planted with the oldest vines in the village, all exposed to the region’s cooling influences. Tucked away in a natural enclave surrounded by pines, junipers, and woodland, the vines grow on sandy, stony soils—ideal for Tempranillo, here co-fermented with a handful of local varieties using native yeasts. The blend was then aged for nearly five years in barrel. The result? A stunning wine—floral, elegant, and incredibly refined, with oak so seamlessly integrated it disappears into the whole. With its mineral depth and striking poise, this is a subtle, pure expression shaped by a cool vintage that suits it perfectly. Already a cult classic.Vinification:
