Wine:

Elevated by a radiant vintage, the 2019 red Haut-Médoc de Maucaillou reveals pure flavors of fruit and a beautiful energy. It's a perfect Bordeaux classic, balancing ripe aromas of fruit, silky tannins, restrained power, and well-integrated aging. A universal red wine to be enjoyed with pleasure and delight.

Vinification:

Mechanical harvest followed by manual sorting in the winery. Traditional, separate vinification for each grape variety in temperature-controlled stainless-steel vats. Aged in barrels for 18 months, 40% new, 40% one-wine and 20% two-wine.

Color:

Bright ruby red.

Nose:

Magnificent aromas of black fruits underlined by a spicy, toasty structure brought about by barrel ageing.

Palate:

A powerful, velvety tannic structure reveals a fresh, exquisite wine. Red and black fruit flavors with controlled acidity create a long, persistent finish that promises to evolve over time.

Temperature:

Serve between 16 and 18°C.

Duck breast, roasted squash and mushrooms, rack of lamb with pepper, beef fillet on a vitelotte potato crumble.
