Wine:

Predominantly made from Grenache Noir, the 2019 Red Rasteau Les Cras takes this grape variety to a new level of finesse and accomplishment. Perfectly ripe, carried by an abundance of black fruits (blackberry and blueberry) and smoky accents, it unfolds a full-bodied palate with silky tannins and violet flavors. A convincing and soberly matured ensemble, very harmonious, ready to drink over 5 years. Rated 92/100 by the Committee.

Vinification:

Hand harvested. Traditional vinification. Aged in cement tanks on fine lees for 8 months.

Certified Biodynamic wine.

Color:

Intense and brilliant red with carmine reflections.

Nose:

Rich and ripe with beautiful aromas of black fruits, blackberry and blueberry accented with a touch of smoke.

Palate:

This wine delivers a delicate and fine structure, a nice grain of silky tannin, beautiful flavors of violet on a delicious palate. A persistent finish reveals a light spicy touch.

Temperature:

Serve at 16 to 18°C.

Food and wine pairing:

Duck parmentier with pepper, flank steak with shallots, grilled ribs and roasted vegetables.

From now until 2028 and beyond for enthusiasts.
