Wine:

Châteauneuf-du-Pape produces very few whites, accounting for just about 6% of the appellation. Even rarer and especially intricate, the 2022 white Pure Roussane cuvée ranks among our favorites. Its aromas of stone fruits and citrus, accentuated by a hint of orange blossom and a subtle woody nuance, captivate us upon opening. Rich and graceful, its texture harmonizes freshness and subtlety, recalling elegant flavors of white fruits and gentle spices, highlighting a perfectly executed style. A bottle that promises pleasure for a decade and even beyond. This is a white wine of significant stature, perfect with lemongrass shrimp or more traditionally, roasted poultry or fish.

Vinification:

Hand harvested. Traditional vinification. Matured for 6 months in new petit foudres (17HL) and demi-muids (5HL) from Stockinger cooperage.

Demeter-certified organic and biodynamic wine.

Color:

Intense, bright golden yellow.

Nose:

Complex aromas of pit fruit and citrus, with a hint of orange blossom.

Palate:

Full-bodied and elegant, this wine rhymes with freshness and subtlety, with delicate flavors of white fruit and sweet spices underlining its elegant style.

Temperature:

Serve between 10 and 12°C.

Food and wine pairing:

Shrimp or prawns with lemongrass, chicken with lemon, lobster with Thai basil, sea bass in a citrus salt crust, baked sole, shellfish risotto.

Cellar aging:

From now until 2035

A leading player in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, the Raymond Usseglio estate is highly sought after. Producing wines that dazzle with vigor and balance, it stands out from many of its peers due to its exceptional consistency and elegance. Always praised by Robert Parker, acquiring their wines has become increasingly challenging: each new release sees the estate besieged with demands, not to mention the extreme scarcity of their white wine!
