Wine:
Largely dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon (97%), the 2015 red Pauillac Château Latour displays undeniable charm, with beautiful black fruit aromas of cherry, blackcurrant and plum, and floral, spice and menthol nuances. The structure is both consistent, thanks to the great maturity of the vintage, and refined, hemmed in by silky tannins, offering a wonderfully balanced wine. The freshness is irresistible and the finish is long-lasting, mineral and delicious. Rated 98/100 by Parker.Vinification:
The grapes are destemmed and crushed, then sent to stainless steel fermentation tanks. Vatting can last up to three weeks. After the run-off, during which the free-run wine is separated from the marc, the wine is put back into the vats to undergo a second fermentation called malolactic. Each wine is then blended in vats, then "lowered" into barrels, during December. The maturation of the wine begins and will last for nearly 18 months.
A magnificent estate in Pauillac, Château Latour holds a unique position in the hierarchy of Grands Crus Classés. With unparalleled consistency, this 1st Growth Classified estate excels year after year, consistently pushing the boundaries of refinement and excellence. Unlike its peers, Château Latour no longer releases its young wines through the Bordeaux Futures system. Instead, it ages them on the property until they have reached the peak of maturity.
Owned by François Pinault and managed by Frédéric Engerer, Château Latour is dedicated to reserving its wines for the most opportune moment. This commitment to excellence, combined with its unique biodynamic management, sets it apart in the world of wine.
