Wine:

Rare and exceptional, the 2022 White Tarra di Sognu brings together the island's endemic grape varieties Rimenese, bianco gentile, carcajolu biancu, genovese and 85% vermentinu, planted on this unique clay-limestone plateau near Bonifacio. Fresh and delicate, crystalline and complex, this exceptional white wine is aged in tuns without new wood, on total lees for six months, and offers phenomenal energy. A gastronomic wine above all, racy and vibrant, it will go well with spicy veal carpaccio or oven-roasted sea capon. Rated 95-96/100 by the committee.

Hand harvested. Gentle and natural winemaking. Aged for 9 months in 34 hectoliter tuns and demi-muids.

Yves Canarelli is one of Corsica's most gifted winemakers, at the pinnacle of French viticulture, with 3 stars in the RVF Guide. Since his first vintage in 1997, this indefatigable perfectionist has never stopped improving and seeking the ideal approach to winemaking. Today, he cultivates over thirty hectares of biodynamic vines in the Figari and Bonifacio areas, reviving some 40 endemic grape varieties.

In 2010, he joined forces with sommelier Patrick Fioramonti to launch a new project called Tarra di Sognu. Produced from 5 hectares located on Bonifacio's great limestone enclosure, the wine produced since 2016 confirms the birth of a first Corsican grand cru, with a mineral tension found nowhere else on the island. Biodynamic viticulture, indigenous yeasts, whole grapes, local grape varieties, ageing in tuns and demi-muids, everything converges towards excellence.
