Domaine de la Mordorée - Côtes du Rhône - Rouge - 2021

Wine:

Refined and elegant, the 2021 Red Côtes-du-Rhône has luscious floral notes, of peony and rose in particular. The palate continues this delicate, powdery, and suave register in a very fresh infused note. This is a beautiful wine with a wonderful balance and a prodigious finesse of tannins! A bottle to be served slightly chilled now or over 5 years, with fine cured meats or a pork chop with juice and herbs.

Vinification:

Hand harvested. De-stemming and crushing followed by maceration of the berries. Traditional winemaking.

Certified organic and biodynamic agriculture. Certified Demeter wine.

Color:

Bright red of good intensity.

Nose:

Floral and powdery with beautiful aromas of fresh peony and rose, subtly enhanced by dried flowers, a pure and elegant nose.

Palate:

Fine and smooth, this wine is marked by an intense freshness; silky tannins reveal a beautiful balance on a peppery finish

Temperature:

Serve at 16 to 18°C.

Food and wine pairing:

Artisanal charcuterie, rabbit terrine with hazelnuts, beef sirloin and pan-fried old vegetables, oven-roasted cauliflower.

The Domaine de la Mordorée is one of our favorite estates from Southern Rhône. One of the best in biodynamic agriculture, it has been awarded the highest rating of 5 stars by Robert Parker. The American critic has always placed it at the top of his hierarchy, saluting their work and mastery of winemaking and praising their wines above all else.
