Wine:

Rich and velvety, carried by the right level of maturity, the 2021 red Lirac La Lorentine surpasses its appellation. As Olivier Poussier summarizes, "The best Lirac property owners are always those from Châteauneuf," and this wine illustrates it wonderfully. Its full, pulpy, velvety character is complemented by aromas of black fruits and spices, blackcurrant, and blackberry. It's a wine that exudes maturity and freshness, with perfect balance and a refreshing, never overwhelming, texture. The Committee's Favorite, rated 94/100.

Vinification:

Hand-picked in 50 kg crates. The grapes are first sorted in the vineyard, then in the cellar. The grapes are then destemmed and crushed. Vinification identical to that of Châteauneuf du Pape: destemming, temperature control and daily pumping-over.
Aged in concrete vats and foudres.

Color:

Intense, brilliant ruby/violine red.

Nose:

Rich and powerful, with aromas of ripe black fruit, blackcurrant and spices, this wine reveals a mature, fresh style.

Palate:

Rich and full-bodied, the palate is fresh with fine, velvety tannins and a pleasantly silky concentration of juice. A sublime balance for a remarkable work.

Temperature:

Serve between 14 and 16°C.

Food and wine pairing:

Sweet-spiced duck breast, chanterelle and shallot fricassee, snacked beef pavé and reduced jus.

Cellar aging:

From now until 2040

These great classics, characterized by the influence of mature grenache, age beautifully and unquestionably lead the way!
