The 2021 red Bierzo Ultreia Saint-Jacques is a Spanish marvel, showcasing the country's unique flair for winemaking. It opens with a nose of ripe Mencía, a blend of black fruit and smoky notes, and unfolds into a fine, fresh, velvety juice of pure fruit. The tannins are prominent yet refined, creating an extremely charming and harmonious ensemble. Rated 93/100 by Parker.

Vinification:

Harvested by hand. Fermented 100% in whole bunches in open oak vats for 2 to 5 months. Aged in 225-liter tuns and cement vats. No fining or filtration.

Intense red with purple highlights.

Nose:

Fine aromas of ripe, fresh black fruits accented by a touch of smoke/ash.

Palate:

With its juicy, velvety texture, this cuvée reveals fine, yet present, tannins, creating a harmonious, gourmet whole.

Temperature:

Serve between 14 and 16°C.
