A brilliant winemaker, Peter Sisseck — known as Pingus — revolutionized the Spanish wine landscape. In the 1990s, he founded Dominio de Pingus in the heart of Ribera del Duero, recognizing the potential of ancient Tempranillo vines.

With organic and biodynamic farming, nearly century-old vines, indigenous yeast fermentation, luxurious oak aging, prized terroirs, and native grape varieties, everything contributes to the uniqueness of this iconic wine, which has risen to the status of a classified cru.

Regarded as one of the greatest wines in the world, Pingus has earned 100/100 Parker ratings multiple times. It has continuously led the charge in the revival of the Iberian Peninsula’s wine scene. Alongside it, discover two other wines that perfectly represent the excellence of the estate.

Made from old Tempranillo vines, along with 8% Grenache and other selected native varieties from the coolest terroirs in the region, the 2022 Ribera del Duero PSI Red is part of an ambitious project to preserve the region’s varietal heritage. Sourced from over 700 plots and vinified in the new winery, this wine showcases the depth and complexity of these incredible terroirs with unmatched energy and complexity. Using indigenous yeast, organic farming, and vinification in large wooden vats and French oak barrels (only 20%), the foundation for this sought-after wine is set. In this vintage, the wine takes another leap forward, with magnificent fruit maturity, elegant texture, and even more evident silky tannins. The freshness and balance are striking, making this wine already incredibly accessible. Once again, a triumph! Rated 94/100 by Parker.

The little brother of Pingus, the 2022 Ribera del Duero Flor de Pingus Red offers a concentrated expression of the estate’s expertise, capturing the brilliance of its elder sibling. Sourced from old vines across five meticulously chosen sectors of the Pingus terroir, this wine undergoes a meticulous 18-month aging in French oak barrels, 20% of which are new, elevating it to a whole new level. Freshness shines through, as always, despite the wine's considerable depth, and the finesse is exceptional. It’s a powerful, aromatic, balanced wine with great elegance — a “mini Pingus” that gives you a glimpse of the giant’s true potential. Rated 95/100 by Parker.

Almost perfect with a 98/100 Parker rating, the 2022 Ribera del Duero Pingus Red is, once again, an exceptional wine. Only two tiny plots of very old Tempranillo vines, along with some native plants, planted in 1929 in the village of La Horra — that’s the secret behind Pingus. Only the finest lots from this micro-terroir are selected to create the iconic wine, born from strict selection and incredibly low yields. A favorite vintage of Peter Sisseck, as it perfectly expresses his vision of great wine, the 2022 is made with 25% whole cluster fermentation and, breaking with the estate’s usual practice, aged entirely in barrels without new oak. The result is a dense, ripe, and full-bodied wine that remains somewhat reserved at this early stage, yet it simultaneously showcases all the finesse, tenderness, and freshness of the terroir with insistence and success, framed by finely spiced notes and a saline resonance.
