Wine:

A Selection Committee Favorite, rated 94+/100, the 2022 Red Moulin-à-Vent is remarkably precise and pure. It unfolds with finesse, offering a velvety texture and vibrant aromas of fresh red fruits, beautifully balanced with well-integrated oak aging. A superbly crafted wine from this outstanding vintage, it will evolve gracefully over the next 8 to 10 years.

Vinification:

Hand harvested. Plots on 8 major terroirs of Moulin à Vent: Rochegrès, Carquelin, Champ de Cour, Thorins, Vérillats, la Roche, la Rochelle and les Caves. Mostly destemmed harvest. Slow maceration for 2 to 3 weeks, with punching down and pumping over. Aged for 10 months in concrete vats and new oak barrels, once-used and twice-used (oak from the forests of Nivernais, Limousin and Allier).

Color:

Bright red, with a beautiful intensity.

Nose:

Notes of red fruit coulis and Burlat cherry.

Palate:

Precise and pure, with ripe fruit flavors at the forefront, this wine unfolds with finesse, offering a delicate structure, a velvety, flavorful texture, and oak aging that adds depth without overpowering the fruit.

Temperature:

Serve between 14 and 16°C.

Food and wine pairing:

Terrines, pâté en croûte, filet of beef, duckling at the Moulin à Vent, rabbit stew.

Cellar aging:

From today until 2034.
